Freya Cumberlidge

I’m a PhD student at Central European University, working on a project looking at how BiHian tour guides use their tours as spaces of contestation of international narratives of the conflict. I have a deep love for Bosnia and Herzegovina and want to be part of the community showing how there’s far more to the country than conflict.

I have interests in postcolonial and feminist IR theory, memory studies, interpretive research methodologies (particularly ethnography and narrative IR) and (dark) tourism studies.

Alongside my scholarly work, I’m a Gender Equality Assistant for the EU SUPERA Project, working to improve gender equality in higher education and research institutions – attempting to enact meaningful changes, not just talking about them.
